File No. 001 · Dept. of VR Arcade Operations
We build VR games for VR arcades.
Not ports. Not living-room games with an arcade mode bolted on. The Respawn Bureau makes free-roam multiplayer VR built from the first line of code for the way arcades actually run — short sessions, big groups, zero tutorials, and staff who need it to just work.
We know the requirements because we are arcade owners ourselves. Every design decision in our games started as a problem on our own floor.
Section II · Statement of Purpose
Arcades are not a platform.
They are a completely different sport.
A home VR game gets a patient player with an hour to spare. An arcade game gets eight strangers, half of them children, who have paid for thirty minutes and have never held a controller. Those are not the same product. So we stopped trying to make one thing serve both.
Built around the session clock
Players drop in and out of a live match at any moment — nobody waits in a lobby for the next round. If the hosting machine goes down, the match migrates to another headset and keeps going instead of dumping everyone back to a menu.
Nobody gets sick on your floor
Teleport locomotion only, and no snap turning — you turn by turning. It is the single biggest reason first-timers hand the headset back early, and designing it out from the start costs nothing in fun.
No tutorial, no ammo, no menus
Infinite ammo and no reloading, because "how do I reload" is a staff question you should never have to answer. Pick a character, pick a game, shoot. An eight-year-old gets it in one sentence.
Runs on your network, not ours
Games find each other over your local network automatically. No accounts, no sign-ins, no cloud dependency, no outage on our end taking your afternoon bookings with it.
Section III · Released Titles
Our games
VR Paintball Blast
Up to 20 players, red versus blue, in a bright low-poly paintball arena where the paint actually stays where it lands — on the walls, on the crates, and all over whoever you just hit. Capture the Flag and Free-For-All across two maps, all on a single local network.
More titles on the way
We are building the next one on the same principles. If there is a game you wish existed for your arcade, we would genuinely like to hear about it.
Section IV · Correspondence
